Manny Pacquiao’s mother in court

The mother of Sarangani Rep. and boxing champion Manny Pacquiao on Wednesday took the witness stand at the Court of Tax Appeals (CTA) for her petition questioning the Bureau of Internal Revenue’s (BIR) assessment of her tax liabilities.

Dionisia Pacquiao, also known as Mommy D, told the tax court that she filed her Income Tax Return (ITR) through a bookkeeper in 2010.

Prosecution lawyers, however, said the BIR issued a certification of her non-filing.

Mrs. Pacquiao refused to issue a statement to the media.
Mrs. Pacquiao has challenged the BIR before the CTA for her high tax assessment despite being “jobless.”
